Very good condition. 'Over a century ago European explorers found gold in Rhodesia, even before it was known on the Witwatersrand, but centuries earlier the "Ancients" had mined and exported it. By combining the records of the Mines Department, the recollections of prospectors and miners, the findings of geologists and archaeologists, the writings of chroniclers (mainly Portuguese) and the tribal memory of African peoples, it has been possible to put together the story of mining and trading going back fifteen hundred years. The "Ancients" were extremely careful and patient prospectors and when they found a good prospect, they worked it with determination despite the fact that they had no machinery or explosives. This book adds a new dimension to Rhodesian history.' Click here for full details of this book, to ask a question or to buy it on-line.
