Pages are clean and intact overall but have light age toning and a faint dampstain limited to top margins. Covers are intact but have all-over red-brown stains, some darkening and dampstaining in upper-right corner on front, and small chips at the head of spine and upper-right corner on front (not affecting text). A Good copy. In this sermon, Reverend J. B. Sylvester discusses the resurrection of the body after death from a Christian perspective. Sylvester examines several passages of Scripture and uses his own reasoning to formulate his interpretation of what Scripture says about the resurrection of Christian believers. He begins by stating that Christian faith comes with it the hope of the afterlife and resurrection of the body. He also argues the "germ theory" of resurrection (in which part of the earthly body is used to "germinate" the resurrected body in the afterlife) is untrue. In one of his counterarguments, he says that Scripture alludes to the reanimation of the same body (which he explains will still be different in some ways from the earthly body) instead of the germ theory's concept of a new spiritual body being created from the earthly one. Sylvester also discusses four instances of resurrection described in the New Testament including the daughter of Jairus, the widow's son, Lazarus, and the saints who were resurrected after Christ's resurrection. Sylvester also addresses critics' doubts about the body being resurrected given its decomposition or possibility of being scattered after death. Sylvester holds that no matter what happens to one's body upon or after death, it is still that person's body.. Book. Book Condition: Good. Binding: Soft cover
