First Edition, first issue. viii, 345 pages; drawings; bound in full leather (blue calf, raised bands) with original title and spine lettering used on the binding. Booth Tarkington (1869-1946) was an American novelist & dramatist who won the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction twice (1919 & 1922). This volume was the first in a series of three books about Penrod Scofield, an eleven year old boy in the mid-west before World War I. A very good clean copy bound in full blue leather..
