Many black-and-white illustrations, complete. Two additional pages in back comprising the Index and a map of the proposed expansion area to Sequoia National Park. One leaf is loose (Pages 31-34). Pages are clean and intact overall but have light to moderate age toning, slight wear to extremities, and some darkening and a few small stains on first page. Covers are clean and intact overall but are fragile and slightly soiled and have some wrinkling, loosening along spine, and several small chips to edges, chips, and spine. A Very Good copy. This booklet contains an introduction and a poem by Susan Thew and scenic printed black-and-white photographs of Sequoia National Park with brief captions. In the Introduction, Thew briefly discusses the Bill of 1926 which was introduced by Congress to increase the area of Sequoia National Park by about 604 square miles. Thew describes the proposed expanded area as including the "drainage basins of the lovely Kaweah River, the great Canyon of the Kern River, and the highest and some of the ruggedest parts of the entire Sierran Range." Most of the booklet is a pictorial tour of Sequoia National Park comprising many black-and-white printed photos of scenic landscape views in the park. Herein, readers can gaze upon lush, verdant meadows in the park as well as stratospheric, rocky precipices in the alpine regions of the park.
