4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. On offer is an original manuscript Latin language books titled 'Theologia Dogmatica Tomus I and III. [The second volume is lost.] Dated 1863written in fine, precise, small script in Latin the books are what may well be super examples of Monastic output perhaps written by a priest or theological student or scholar. No evidence of origin but may possibly be American the sole clue a signature of later owner from Connecticut on ffe. There are hand drawn borders to the text and margin notes in the same hand. The books measures 8.5" x 7" with worn cloth binding and worn leather spine. Interior tight and intact, with more latin notations laid in. The title page has the bottom portion neatly cut away, possible by the author. The remainder is intact and very well preserved. 122 leaves with writing on both sides. Tomus I and III have gift inscriptions: donated by Dr. and Mrs. Wesley C. Luther July 14, 1965. The covers are damaged and chipped and rubbed but the interiors much better. Overall G.. Manuscript.
