Collection of fifteen original leaflets printed on light beige paper in dark blue and black ink, Numbers 1-14 and 16 of the Lincoln Digest. The leaflets are stapled together in upper-left corner. Each bulletin has a small decorative portrait illustration of Lincoln in the upper-left corner on first page. No date, circa 1943. 4" x 5 1/2." Each leaflet is unpaginated, four pages, complete. Collection is sixty pages in total. A few of the leaflets have "Brantner-Robbins Agency" stamped in blue ink on bottom margin of last page. Pages are pristine and intact except for slight age toning. Each leaflet is Fine. A concise yet comprehensive collection of fifteen bulletins from the Lincoln Digest. All numbers are present except for No. 15. Each issue is a brief leaflet of four pages that addresses a topic relating to Abraham Lincoln. The following are the titles of each number with a brief synopsis of what the leaflet is about. Bulletin No. 1: "Lincoln's Life in 1000 Words" [brief biography from his birth to his assassination]. No. 2: "Scout Abraham Lincoln" [how he exemplified the attributes and virtues of what is takes to be a Boy Scout]. No. 3: "Lincoln's Diversified Occupations" [chronological look at his various occupations in life]. No. 4: "Collecting Lincoln Pennies" [about the eponymous pennies including a mention of the collectible Victor D. Brenner (VDB) misprint pennies]. No. 5: "Lincoln's Manual for Lawyers" [a series of his quotes and maxims aimed toward practicing or prospective lawyers]. No. 6: "Lincoln's Military Manual" [a collection of brief correspondence from Lincoln to various military figures, giving insight into how his principles and military tactics as Commander-in-Chief]. No. 7: "100 Outstanding Events in Lincoln's Life" [timeline of notable events in different spheres of his life]. No. 8: "Lincoln's Manual for Executives" [series of axioms that characterize his principles as president; also doubles as life advice on how to get things done]. No. 9: "Lincoln's Political Philosophy" [Lincoln quotes that reveal his inner character and principles; also doubles as inspirational advice]. No. 10: "Three Lincoln Mothers" [about three mothers in his life, Nancy Hanks Lincoln, Sarah Bush Lincoln, and Mary Todd Lincoln]. No. 11: "Lincoln's Place in the Universe" [a collection of tributes to Lincoln from noted European and American figures]. No. 12: "Lincoln Books for Casual Readers and Small Libraries" [fifteen books about Lincoln that cover different sub-genres]. No. 13: "Lincoln, the Postman" [about his three-year career as postmaster general in New Salem, Illinois]. No. 14: "Lincoln Commemorative Stamps" [about different stamps issued to commemorate Lincoln]. No. 16: "The Brady Photograph" [brief history of photographer Mathew Brady's famous Lincoln portrait photograph]. Bulletin No. 16 explains how Robert Lincoln gave permission to the Lincoln National Life Insurance Company (LNLIC) to use his father's likeness for company branding. In 1905, LNLIC was founded by Arthur F. Hall in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Louis A. Warren, a noted Lincoln scholar, was hired by the company. Warren then acquired one of the largest collection of Lincoln books in the United States, which became a central part of the Abraham Lincoln Museum in Fort Wayne.
