Second Enlarged Edition. Original publisher's gray paper wrappers. Text printed in black ink. Printed on front cover: "The Resources of Missouri and the Natural Adaptation of Saint Louis to Iron Manufactures." 5 1/2" x 8 1/2." Thirty-one pages, complete. Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning throughout and a blue stamp from the New Jersey Historical Society limited to top margin of Page 3. Covers are clean and intact overall but have slight darkening, a few small chips and general wear along extremities, brief ink inscription on spine, and a blue stamp from the New Jersey Historical Society and a few brief former owners' notations in ink and colored pencil on front. A Very Good copy. A report containing a collection of statistical data used to encourage the settlement of Missouri by European immigrants and American emigrants. Among the subjects discussed (each subject is treated briefly) are the yields of Missouri's different crops, domestic financial data and comparisons to foreign counterparts, mineral resources, railroads and infrastructure, costs of materials, and domestic manufacture. Much of the report consists of numerical and financial figures. A brief section of text in back promotes the iron industry and encourages iron workers to come to Missouri. There are also brief references to the negative effect the Civil War had on Missouri's industries and economy.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Soft cover
