As an athlete, Williams set multiple regional and national swimming records. Her swimming talent led her to pursue acting as a career when she was discovered first by Billy Rose for his water show, Aquacade, and then by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. She acted in a number of roles, and her swimming background was often used as part of the story and the characters she played. For example, Williams appeared in several aqua-musicals during the 1940s and 1950s which incorporated synchronized swimming and diving. Some of the films she acted in are Duchess of Idaho (1950), Million Dollar Mermaid (1952), and Jupiter's Darling (1955). In 1966, she was also inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.. Photographic Image. Book Condition: Collectible-Fine. Binding: No Binding
