Signature in black ink on beige paper that appears to be part of a longer letter. Top half of letter appears to be cut off. No date, circa 1830s-1850s. 5 1/4" x 2 1/2." One page. Signed with initials, "N. P. W." Letter reads: "The contributions offered "[name of individual]" are very valuable. Hoping to see you bye and bye. Yours very truly, N. P. W." Letter and signature are very clean and intact. Nathaniel Parker (N. P.) Willis (1806-1867) was an American author, poet, and editor. After college, Willis began working for the New York Mirror and made his own publication, Town & Country, in 1846. Willis became the highest-paid magazine writer in his time and also worked with notable literary figures such as Edgar Allen Poe and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.. Manuscript.
