Typed document signed January 23rd, 1900 (2 pages. 8 1/2 x 13 inches). Three person committee reports the State Comptroller that based on its examination of evidence, that the gas explosion at the State Capitol on August 23, 1899 was caused by gas escaping from the pipes leading to the gas lanterns. The committee report further states that the accident was "Purely and accident". It was signed by Edward Mahl, James ?? . and Geo H. Gilbert.
