Circa 1860s. Original stereocard on beige board. Board dimensions 7 x 3 1/2 inches, photograph dimensions 6 x 3 inches. Title at base of photos. Some rubbing on edges and foxing. Notes in pencil and stamps on back. View of Cliff House from above, ocean and Seal Rocks in the background. Two people are sitting on the hillside admiring the view. This appears to be the first incarnation of the Cliff House, a hotel and restaurant, built in 1863 by Senator John Buckley and C. C. Butler. The Cliff House was destroyed by fire and rebuilt twice, and is now part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
