# 20877 (248). Stereograph on gray board (7 x 3 1/2 inch) with commentary on the backside about Panama City and its history. Port of call for the Spanish gold fleets where the gold and silver was transported over the isthmus to be loaded on ships bound for Spain, a center for pirates that preyed on the fleets, among them Drake and Morgan, during the California Gold Rush it was a center of transport for passengers headed up the coast to California and now has become the Pacific entrance to the Panama Canal. Lovely view of the city from Ancon Hill looking toward the Pacific. Nice clean copy.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Fine. Binding: No Binding
