The celebration in 1887 included election of officers; a lengthy poem by Col. G. Douglas Brewerton, a pioneer of 1847; and an Oration. "Upon the conclusion of the literary exercises the assemblage, whose appetites by this time had become very keen, proceeded to do full justice to the solid and liquid portion of the Bulls Head Breakfast." "A feature of this part of the days entertainment was a Virginia Reel, participated in only by Pioneers over sixty-five years of age, their partners, however, ranging from 'sweet sixteen' upward"..
