Image of the head and upper body with Napoleon III in uniform. Charles Louis Napoleon Bonaparte (1808-1873) was President of France 'Second Republic' (1848-1851) and Emperor of France 'Second Empire' (1852-1870). He was the nephew of Napoleon. His two claims to fame were renovating Paris, creating it's wide boulevards and parks, and his military adventures which ended in the capture of him and his army during the Franco-Prussian War at the Battle of Sedan in 1870.
