1887. Stiff binding, paperback format, 191 pages. Red colored edges. About 3½ inches wide by 5¾ inches tall. Maps throughout, both hand-colored and black and white. Condition of binding: Spine heavily chipped, tears; shelf wear; age toning, old soiling. Hinges cracked, mostly separated from text block. Title page is chipped at extremities, detached and laid in. Old notations penciled in (title page, rear endpapers). Except for about four pages (short tears, mostly at borders), all maps in Very Good Plus condition (mostly clear and vivid and not torn). Scattered age toning with some foxing, several old damp stains. Overall, book is in Fair condition. Very uncommon antiquarian book, featuring more than 100 maps, diagrams, tables, and profiles of U.S. states and foreign countries. Indexed. Collectible.
