Original blue smooth-weave cloth, with gilt lettering, decorations and rule to the spine and upper board. All edges gilt. A little bruising to the backstrip ends and a touch of light wear to the corner tips and several other extremities. A very minor slant to the binding. Some spotting to the frontispiece tissue, offset to the adjacent leaves, and with some further occasional spotting, and finger-soiling to some margins. A nice bright copy of this North American-set Kipling novel, originally serialised in "McClure's" between November 1896 and May 1897, and much admired by Theodore Roosevelt.. Book.
