UNIDENTIFIED : 1805 HANDWRITTEN MANUSCRIPT DIARY OF EARLY NEW YORK STATE LIFE BY A YOUNG SCHOOL AGE MAN

16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. On offer is a handwritten manuscript 'Memorandum' dated Kingsbury Sept. 24th, 1805, Washington County, State of New York, Republic of North America. Eight pages, string tied, with handwriting notations on five pages, thusly three pages are blank, small hole to rear cover, affecting a couple of words. It talks about going to school on Saturdays and boarding with different people and it is a record of how many loads of wood he cut for different people for credit. Names mentioned include Isabel Haskins, John Bond, Sam'l Harris, John Patterson and Elijah Smith. This is a very interesting little diary of events in early New York State that features some lovely calligraphic penmanship.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Good
