Very good condition. Introduction by Sir George Sansom. Plus 8 pages of index plus a 2 page map tracking Commodore Perry's flagship on his two voyages from the China Coast to Japan. Orange covers/black illustrated ship on front. Black banner on spine with gold lettering. There is HOWEVER some spine toe tearing and a 1 x 1/8 open hole on front hinge. Also minor wear at spine top end. Frontispiece is full page picture of Perry from a daguerreotype by Haas. Very nice.6 nice pages of b/w photos and illustrations. Top edge black page edges.
