circa.1870s. "Stereoscopic Treasures. Found a Prize - - - No. 313". Original Stereograph on tan board (3 1/2 x 7 inch) with title on the backside. Frank G. Weller (1833-1877) was an early New Hampshire stereoview photographer beginning in 1861. Among his stereoviews was the 'Steroscopic Treasures' series - photos showing family life and circumstances. This image shows Fontanella standing next to a hoe and shovel examining some 'prize' she has just found. Sometimes he used relatives as models, as in this case the model is his daughter Fontanella A. Weller (1870-1892). Fontanella Weller married Henry Fitch in 1890 and eventually lived in Spokane, Washington. She died in 1892, a few months after giving birth to a child who died in infancy.
